German Shepherd Rescue
Occasionally, Kridler's German Shepherds helps
foster abandoned Shepherds from various local shelters.
We take them in,
update vaccines, have them spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, and
assess temperament. We require a $250 adoption fee, and a
multi-page application for each of these dogs. Contact Tari at 330-549-0310; best time is after 8 pm.
Rescued 05/27/10
Miska is a 5 year old spayed
female. She is does not do well with other female
dogs or cats. She is also house-trained. The owner
was "just going to leave her in the garage" if I
didn't take her. Click photo to enlarge.

"Baby" was found in an abandoned home nearby. She is
about 4 years old and very friendly. She is a happy
dog, has no issues with other dogs, children, or
even cats. She seems to be house-trained. She will
be spayed and UTD on vaccines very soon. She does
not have any training, but is learning very quickly
to sit, down and stay. Click images to enlarge.

Updated 11/15/19
**ADOPTED**
Good Morning Tari.
I just wanted to take a minute and get you up to
date on Hank, or as I call him, Bubba or Hanky
Panky. He is such a wonderful dog. Totally
devoted to me, never leaves my side, courageous
an d
loving.
Very
intelligent, he knows and obeys all obedience
commands, inside and outside the house, on and
off leash.
He still does not
like having a leash on, as he cannot tolerate
the collar pulling on his neck.
He gets along
with Sasha and Bippa, my little rat terrier who
is 13 years old, and loves to play with his
toys. He is rather obsessive about the toys and
sometimes drives me nuts.
I have taught him
to talk to me on command and now I cannot keep
him quiet! He is always willing to do anything I
ask of him and always ready to ride in the car.
He waits at the
door and the stairs for me to go first, and then
call him to come. He now shakes hands, both
paws, and just recently learned to lay down and
roll over on command for the wonderful belly
rub! What a guy.
Thank you from the
bottom of my heart for letting me adopt him. I
love him with all my heart.

Update: 01/21/09
** ADOPTED**
This poor guy was on his LAST day at the Mahoning County
Pound and something in his eyes said we needed to get
him.
He is super
sweet, very, very, intelligent. He is also
tremendously thin, weighing just 60 lbs. His
estimated weight should be 90+ lbs.
He is a large
boy, neutered by us, UTD on vaccines, HW tested and
microchipped - thanks to funds from Last Hope Safe Haven
Rescue.
We will
"fatten" him up and hope to find him a great home. He
listens like a dream and knows several commands - even
post anesthesia! He looks to be 2 to 3 years old and has
not shown any dog or people aggression. He was a stray.
Contact Tari
for adoption information. We would prefer a home without
small children, only because he is older and we are
unsure if he has any experience with kids.
UPDATE:
12/02/08
We have named this guy, "Hank." He continues to gain
weight, loves everyone, and wants only to be with people
24/7. |

9/3/07 Our Latest Rescue
"Buddy" is NOW in excellent Health & Now Ready to be adopted!!
These photos below were
taken on 9-3-07.
Here are the Shocking Photos of
"Buddy" right after he came to us:

8/2/07 We heard about this guy, about to be euthanized at the
Columbiana Co. Pound.
OH So thin - 53lbs - 40% underweight. Neck wound from
embedded collar, ears severely infected, and still VERY
Happy-Go-Lucky!

neutered, UTD on shots, HW checked, and Not Good With Cats.
8/10/07 Update: "Buddy" has gained 5 lbs. And since his ear

ADOPTED** Meet New Rescue "Annie"
** ADOPTED**"Annie" as we are
calling her, was about to be put to sleep at the Trumbull ,Ohio
Animal shelter when Rescue Friend Vicki called and asked if there
was any way I could make room to take this sweet, very scared, under
weight girl. She is a Small (54 lbs), red sable, purebred
Czech-line, VERY SMART. Approximately one year old!
She is Spayed, HW Neg, UTD on All
Shots, and Microchipped. She shows no dog aggression or cat prey
drive, but she is "Mouthy." She will play bite and even grab
your hand, but TOTALLY not in a mean way. She just needs
guidance and obedience training, which we will start this week.
She is very clean and more than likely housebroken. We prefer a
home for her with Older Children, and a fenced in back yard.
Meet Tasha, 1/08 - Adopted
Tasha is a beautiful 3 year old female that
is being fostered at Vicki Burkey's. She is very happy-go-lucky,
clean and friendly with other male dogs. She is UTD on vaccines,
HW Neg, and spayed. She must go to a family with a fenced
yard.
1/20/07 This is such a sad story that we have decided to leave his
pictures up on the site indefinitely in order to remind those that
view this page.
Please Rescue a German Shepherd. NO DOG DESERVES what Josh went
through.
On 10/2/06... New Addition to our
Rescue Family... Meet "Chance" (New Name is Josh)
Sadly, these are the pictures of him from
today. He was picked up by the police and will be fostered at Carol
Hansen's until able to be seen by a veterinarian.

Josh will not be ready for
placement for approximately 1-3 months, after he is neutered and
UTD on all shots and heartworm checked.
He is very sweet and looks to be
about one year old. Donations for his food/care are greatly
appreciated and will go directly to his Foster Mom, Carol.
10/6/06 Josh was picked up
with help from Karen Teplitzky.
He has very labored breathing and
his coat is falling out in our hands. His breath has a funny
odor and he is weak. He will be at the vet on Monday, thanks to
Angels for Animals, unless he takes a turn for the worse over
the weekend.
We decided to name him "Josh" as
the story is that every dog named "Chance" doesn't make it back
out of Angels. So, Josh is in LOVING hands now, and we'll keep
you updated.
THANK YOU CAROL & Karen.
10/13/06 GOOD NEWS Josh is
Heartworm Negative. Thanks to Angels for Animals for Updating
him on shots, including Rabies, and we are going to wait for
weight gain, then neuter him. He is gaining slowly, but he is
GAINING.
Sad NEWS....10/23/06 Josh has
Passed. He developed Pneumonia and with ALL our attempts at
saving him, his immune system was just too weak. Our
Hearts are BROKEN.
This poem was written
by Dave for the Memories of "Josh."
Life is filled with
difficult things With pain and sorrow and woe, Life would be
a wonderful thing Except for the sorrow we know
Beautiful sunsets, the cheerful smile Are sometimes lost to our
heart When terrible things, tear at our soul When bonded
friends must part The loss of love, the dashing of dreams
The hopes that we had, not a few The wonderful times, the
devotion shared The moments, life found anew Gone in a
moment, lost in our tears Absent that wonderful touch How to
survive so great a loss Of the one we loved so much But
time passes on and days come and go And we are not left without
Memories that touch us, time after time And leave a warm glow
about The days filled with love, adventure and fun The
warm, calm peace at day's end I would not have had it, it would
not be mine Except for the love of my friend Sleep now
my partner, your love remains Leave me to suffer my pain
Until all the sorrow, grief and great loss Give way to fond
memories again There is no pain where there is no value
No loss where there has been no joy There is no life unless we
are giving Places for love to employ - David Fritsche
